4. Methodology of the course

4.5. The virtual classroom

While the interaction of the students with the mentoring of the educational institution takes place in-person, the interaction with the Practicum professor takes place virtually and asynchronously through the virtual classroom of the UOC.

The virtual classroom is the space in which the resources, tools and information that students need to be able to properly develop their learning throughout the course are organized. It is also the environment through which the professor presents and evaluates the learning activities, monitors the students throughout the Practicum and offers them feedback on the work submitted.

Through the virtual classroom and the communication tools and spaces it offers, students can interact both with the teaching staff and with their classmates. This virtual classroom offers various functions, such as the following:

  • It serves for the Practicum professor to send general communications and provide basic guidance to the group in relation to the continuous assessment activities: deadlines, characteristics, etc.
  • It facilitates communication between students in the classroom and provides them with a space to share doubts, experiences and learning in the form of a mutual support network.
  • It provides discussion forums on specific topics proposed and moderated by the Practicum professor.
  • It offers various tools that facilitate the collaborative construction of knowledge and transversal work across various aspects of the course, including portfolios and video presentation tools, among others.
